Privacy Policy

1. Our approach to privacy

ExpenseTracker is designed to help you manage your personal finances privately.

Your financial records are stored on your device. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not receive or sell the financial information you enter into the App.

Your information leaves the App only when you choose to export or share a backup.

2. Information stored in the App

ExpenseTracker stores the information you provide, which may include:

• Account names and balances
• Income and expense records
• Transaction amounts, dates, and descriptions
• Categories and currencies
• App preferences
• Backup files

This information is used only to provide the App’s features, such as calculating balances, organizing transactions, and displaying financial summaries.

Please avoid entering unnecessary sensitive personal information in transaction descriptions or other text fields.

3. Backups and sharing

You may create backups of your ExpenseTracker data. These backups can contain the financial information stored in the App.

Backups remain on your device unless you choose to export or share them. If you send a backup to another application, person, or storage service, their privacy practices will apply.

You are responsible for keeping exported backups secure. Avoid sharing them with people or services you do not trust, and delete copies you no longer need.

4. Information we do not collect

ExpenseTracker does not currently collect:

• Your name, email address, or telephone number
• Your location
• Your contacts, photos, or videos
• Advertising information
• Payment-card or banking credentials
• Your financial records through our servers
• Usage information for advertising or profiling

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

5. How your information is used

Information stored in ExpenseTracker is used to:

• Record and organize income and expenses
• Calculate account balances
• Display reports and financial summaries
• Remember your preferences
• Create and restore backups

We do not use your financial information for advertising or marketing.

6. Sharing with third parties

We do not automatically share your ExpenseTracker data with third parties.

Your information may be shared only when you choose to export or send a backup using another application or service. Once shared, that information is handled according to the recipient’s privacy policy and security practices.

7. Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable steps to protect information stored by the App. However, the security of your data also depends on how you protect your device and exported backups.

We recommend that you:

• Use a secure device passcode
• Keep your device’s operating system updated
• Store backups in a secure location
• Share backups only with trusted recipients
• Delete backup files that you no longer need

No method of storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute protection.

8. Data retention and deletion

Your information remains on your device until you delete it.

You can remove information by:

• Deleting individual records within the App
• Deleting backup files
• Clearing the App’s storage
• Uninstalling the App

Uninstalling the App or clearing its storage may permanently remove your information. Backups previously exported elsewhere will not be deleted automatically.

Because we do not receive your locally stored financial records, we cannot recover them if they are deleted or lost.

9. Children’s privacy

ExpenseTracker is not intended for children under 13 or the minimum age required by local law.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Parents or guardians should supervise a minor’s use of the App.

10. International transfers

We do not transfer your financial records to our servers.

If you choose to store or share a backup through another service, that provider may process the file in another country according to its own privacy policy.

11. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App, our practices, or applicable laws.

When changes are made, the “Last updated” date at the top of this policy will be revised. Where appropriate, important changes may also be communicated through the App or its store listing.
